A Dangerous Business

We finally saw The Hobbit! And I finally started reading The Lord of the Rings for the first time. Prepare for quotes about wandering and courage and even more nature imagery.

“Teach me how to play canasta too!”

#100happydays #day73

Brunch and canasta reunion with some of my dearest friends, which unexpectedly turned into an entire day of food and games and catching up. I’m grateful for each of them, even though I didn’t win a single game of canasta. 😉

Be Sure to Drink Your Ovaltine

I’m so behind because of jet lag and traveling and not knowing what day or time it is… I seemed to have forgotten to take any photos on our last day in Hawaii and red eye flight home/Christmas. Oops. I guess I really lived in the moment on that day. So here is a photo of my goofy family on Christmas Eve. I wouldn’t change anything about them. 🙂

To skipping Christmas for a vacation in Hawaii. Celebrating the day with last minute hoagies and the last showing of A Christmas Story… perfect.

What a beautiful last full day in Hawaii. We ate Portuguese donuts, visited Pearl Harbor, sat by the hotel next door’s fancy pool and bar, and ate dinner on the top floor of the hotel. And despite my love of mountains, this bay view holds me.

Surf’s Up and Shave Ice

The North Shore is the best shore. The waves were startling extreme. We watched a lone surfer navigate surf. And that’s as close as I’d like to get to the tube.

And shave ice! Because North Shore.

And I posted the photos backwards. Because it’s my blog. And also because I don’t know how to post a photo within the text. (Things I’ll make sure my potential children learn: how to code… or just work Word Press.)
